Autodesk Eligibility
Educational Autodesk software may be purchased by any Educational institution as outlined in the definition below. It can be used for both day and evening curriculum based courses leading to Degree level, however use for further studies in the form of Commercial or Professional training where a fee is charged by the establishment would be unauthorised.
Definitions:
'End Users’ for educational products (including Autodesk DSG and M&E Educational Institution Software Programs) are Educational Institutions located in the EEA being secondary schools, universities, professional educational institutions recognized or accredited by the Department of Education.
‘Qualifying Student’ for student products (including Autodesk DSG and M&E Educational Software Programs) means a ‘degree seeking’ student, or faculty staff or other staff member of educational institutions, located in the EEA, desiring to obtain one or more products for study or instruction and not for commercial, professional or for profit purposes.
‘Degree Seeking’ denotes studies up to Degree level which includes KeyStage, GCSE, A-Level, VCE, QCF, 14-19 Eng Diploma, NVQ/GNVQ, BTEC, RC&G, Foundation, Honours, Masters and Doctoral.
‘Charities and Government’
Registered Charities and Government Bodies do not qualify for Educational Software purchases.
Some establishments can apply for special dispensation to purchase Educational software. They must demonstrate that the software will be used for Educational purposes and not for profit. Examples include some charities or organisations which run community based Educational projects for young or disadvantaged persons or Museums who operate as a Resource Centre for local schools and colleges. Applications for special conditions must be made in writing via Autodesk Distribution. Authorisation will depend on individual circumstance and Autodesk reserve the right to refuse such authorisation at their discretion.
‘Commercial Training’
In order to sell Commercial training, an establishment must either purchase a full Commercial license of Autodesk software or apply to become an ATC (Autodesk Training Centre) by contacting atchelp@autodesk.com and asking for an Application Pack.
