Can I buy student software?
Software sold on this site in intended for students and their parents or guardians for home use. Teachers and faculty staff may also be eligible for some of the products sold on this site. Please refer the manufacturers eligibility criteria for more information.
Can parents buy on behalf of their child?
Yes, parents can pay for this product on behalf of their child, but the product must be registered in the name of the child and the relevant proof must be provided and the product may only be used for non-commercial use.
Why should I buy here?
Many manufacturers such as Microsoft and Adobe offer genuine discounted software for students. StudentSoftware.ie is an initiative by Micromail - an Irish company in business for over 23 years, working with Schools, VECs and universities - to bring those programmes to Irish students.
What is the difference between the student version and the commercial version?
Nothing, unless stated. However some manufacturers place a time limit on the software to coincide with expected course durations.
How many copies of the product can students purchase?
Students can purchase one copy of each product within a 12 month period.
Can I use the software for commercial gain?
Unless explicitly stated you cannot use the software for commercial gain. Some vendors such as Adobe do allow the Student & Teacher Editions to be used for commercial gain. Please refer to the vendors eligibility criteria for more information.
